Anonymous asked: Hey Shae, I'm literally crying as I write this but I'm slowly pulling myself together. I've been having problems with myself, as I can't find a way to let go of my past and look to my future with positivity. Several things that have happened recently have hurt me in some way, and I can't find a way to get over them. I was wondering if you know anything I can do and if you could pray with me that things get better, I stay humble and that I keep striving for the best? Thank you! It means alot!

It’s insane how many times I tried to answer this. smh

I’m praying for you love and with you.

It’s sometimes hard to forgive ourselves for our old actions and old ways especially when those old ways or things surface again.

You have to understand that you’re a new creature in Christ, all old things have passed away - all things are new. So things that you’ve done or things that have happened to you, they’ve passed away. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t still hurt and i’m not trying to say they don’t or didn’t exist, it’s not about ignoring them. It’s about understanding that because you’re a new creature in Christ these things no longer have power over you. Does that make sense?

The Bible says that we’ve been freed from the POWER of sin.

Also forgiveness is key to being completely set free from things that have happened to you in the past.

Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. - Colossians 3:13

The Holy Spirit is within you and ready to act on the word that comes from your mouth. God hastens to His word so that He can perform it. Christ gave us the Holy Spirit so that we could have supernatural power to walk with Him. The Holy Spirit empowers you to live the life God has called you to live, to get over past hurts, to get over sin, etc. God is always completely and wholly perfect in YOUR weaknesses.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9

God has given us grace for every situation in our life. Does that make sense? That literally means that if I am tortured for my belief in Christ, God has given me the grace to sustain that torture whether  I live through it or die because of it - He’s given me grace to  take that type of punishment. God will only allow us to go through what we can personally handle. Even though this is the case if we ever feel as though we’re going through something that we can’t handle we can always go to God and ask for grace and help in our time of need.

Let us therefore come boldly [with confidence] unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain [receive] mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. - Hebrews 4:16

God doesn’t allow us to go through these things for no reason, two things happen when we experience trials and tribulations in life.

1. It strengthens us and purifies us.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kindsbecause you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverancePerseverance [enduring with patience] must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. - James 1:2-4

2. Our testimony helps others because before they heard of our testimony, they likely thought they were the only ones who were experiencing what they went through.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. - James 5:16

That’s why we’re told to confess..so that we can be healed and so the others can be healed by our testimony because they can relate.

Does that make sense?

I pray this helps you love, God bless you and you’re in my prayers. Please let me know if you need anything else regarding this or something else. <3333
